Rhinelander Little League 10U team heading to state
The Rhinelander Little League 10U All-Star team excelled in a winner-take all situation, defeating Wausau American 12-1 in five innings Friday to win the Wisconsin Little League District 5 title at Doepke Park in Rib Mountain. Details from the game were not immediately provided.

The Hodags went 4-1 in the double-elimination tournament. The Americans edged Rhinelander 11-9 Thursday to set up Friday's championship game.

Rhinelander advances to the state tournament, which will take place Aug. 10-15 in Rice Lake.
