Deev notched his first tally 14:58 into the first period. He then added goals at 3:33 into the second and at 7:46 into the second.
The Cats made Holland River Bandits' goaltenders work in net, getting 58 shots and forcing 47 saves. Brendon Hanser made 26 stops and John Posler made 21. The Street Cats found the back of the net more times than usual Thursday. The team has scored at the pace of 4.3 goals per game during the current campaign. The forwards weren't the only contributers offensively as the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with four goals.
The Cats also got points from Dmitry Lvov, who had one goal and four assists to lead the team in points. Todd Houtari racked up one goal and one assist, Devin Vander Wyk grabbed one goal and two assists, and Aleksandr Ilin finished with two goals and one assist.
Peter Carlin also scored for the Street Cats. In addition, Rhinelander received assists from Nicholas Fleming, who had two, and Kirill Kulakov, who had three.
The River Bandits forced Cats' goalies to work all game long, ripping 53 shots and forcing 47 saves. Spencer Brasswell made 29 stops and Rushan Guinuillin made 18.
Holland was helped by Cameron Benson, who tallied two goals. Benson scored the first of his two goals at 3:38 into the second period to make the score 5-4 Rhinelander. Abram Prince assisted on the tally. Benson's next tally made the score 6-6 with 10:55 left in the second period.
Holland also got points from Bryce Stenstrom, who had two goals and one assist. Alexander Devries also scored.
Rhinelander 7, Holland 6
At the Rhinelander Ice Arena, the Rhinelander Street Cats scored the game's last four goals, including Nick Fleming's overtime winner, to rally and beat the Holland River Bandits 7-6 in Friday's second game of the series.
Dylan Farmer had a hat trick, including two shorthanded goals on the same penalty at 13:18 and 13:35 of the third period that tied the game at 6-all.
Sergey Deev registered two goals and an assist for Rhinelander, while Eric Blankenship had a goal plus a helper and Caleb Stolzman three assists to help back Spencer Brasswell's 37-save performance in goal.
Aleksandr Ilin chipped in two assists, including one on Fleming's game-winner 2:53 into the extra session.
For Holland, Bryce Stenstrom popped two goals and added two assists and Trevor McCoy scored twice with an assist as John Posler finished with 51 saves between the pipes.
Alex Devries had a goal and an assist for Holland, Riley Clark also scored and Parker Michels tacked on two assists.
The teams wrap up their series tonight at 7:30 p.m. It will be the final regular season home game for the Street Cats.
