Timothy Conjurske, owner of Golden Harvest, is planning to move his store from its current location at 627 Coon Street to a new facility to be built at the corner of County Highway G and U.S. Highway 8.
"We are out of space. We don't have enough space for product or customers in our store, so we will be expanding," Conjurske said.
"We're still going to be able to offer everything that we do at the current location, but we'll have more space for everyone. We'll still have our garden center outside and everything, but now we'll have more space for product and more space for our customers."
Customer comfort is one of the big advantages of the move, Conjurske said, and with that comfort comes more choices up and down the aisles.
"We will have more parking for (customers), more room in the aisles so they can move around in the store, and we'll also have about 30 percent more product," he said.
Conjurske hopes the move will be complete sometime this summer, though exact dates for building completion and move-in have not yet been set.
A public hearing on a conditional use permit application for the new building is set for Jan. 15.
"We're hoping to get everything completed somewhere around June, but that's not set in stone," Conjurske said. "We hope to have the building completed and to be all moved in right around that time."
