Rhinelander Swim Club hosts home meet
Among the highlights for the Hodag swimmers:
- Jack Antonuk, 9, dropped 6.57 seconds in the 100-yard individual medley for a new personal-best time of 1 minute, 37.4 seconds.
- Miranda Erdmann, 12, improved 5.42 seconds in the 200 IM (2:46.93) and 6.96 seconds in the 100 freestyle (1:09.97).
- Mathias Fugle, 7, dropped 5.82 seconds in the 25 freestyle (24.66).
- Tucker Lindman, 9, dropped an amazing 14.77 seconds in the 100 freestyle (1:31.78).
- Sarah Marshall, 7, improved 8.10 seconds in the 25 backstroke (30.56).
- Tazia Oxendine, 9, dropped 11.99 seconds in the freestyle (53.79).
- Alexandra Pond, 13, dropped 17.82 seconds in the 200 freestyle (2.37.23).
- Kody Price, 12, improved 12.91 seconds in the 100 freestyle (1:35.39)
- Sam Rutkowski, 10, dropped 9.33 seconds in the 100 freestyle (1:48.57), 7.60 seconds in the 50 backstroke (1:00.96) and 17 seconds in the 50 breaststroke (1:05.89).
- Will Rutkowski, 10, beat his personal best time in the 50 breaststroke by 8.09 seconds (55.06).
- Carly Seidl, 14, improved 10.42 seconds in the 100 breaststroke (1:35.17).
Six RSC swimmers also traveled to Wausau over the weekend to participate in the Wausau Tide Winter Open. This meet was a two-day meet held at Horace Mann Middle School. Russell Benoy, Miranda Erdmann, Charlie Heck, Grace Heck, Joseph Heck, and Taylor Hollands joined up with the Northern Lakes Aquatic Club and other northern Wisconsin swimmers. Benoy swam both Saturday and Sunday and earned third place in the high points standing. He swam nine events, finishing sixth or better in all events.
RSC travels to Ladysmith on Saturday to compete in its last meet before the new year.
