Rummys to host fundraiser for animal rescue operation

"My nephew's band (The Thorn Brothers) is playing. There will be food, drink, (a) Packer jersey, Packer tickets and a raffle," Stef Schneider said.
There will also be all-natural homemade dog treats, T-shirts with the phrase "Be Kind to Animals" and "Rescue is My Favorite Breed" and high-quality ornaments from Pottery Barn.
The proceeds will go toward spaying and neutering the dogs Schneider has rescued from kill shelters in California and relocated to Wisconsin.
"I think it will be a pretty good turnout," Schneider said, adding that she has received over 100 responses through social media alone and an overwhelming amount of support from local businesses.
"It means everything, without that I couldn't do any of this," she said.
Schneider would be thrilled to raise $2,000 or more. She also said she would consider putting together another fundraiser if this one goes well.
"I would like to but we will see how this goes," she said. "We have to spend money to make money and we have to pay vet bills."
Schneider uses Facebook to help find homes for the dogs she rescues. She posts pictures and descriptions about each one. More information can be found at facebook.com/itmatters toone.

There are currently 18 dogs available for adoption.
