Kindness for Kids provides presents for kids from disadvantaged families who might not otherwise receive gifts during the holiday season.
Over the past few years, the Rhinelander hockey and skating groups have become a program that Kindness for Kids looks to as a major player in their efforts to collect gifts.
There will be large boxes set up at Rhinelander Ice Arena for collecting donations of new unwrapped toys and gifts.
All these gifts will be presented to Kindness for Kids for their 2013 gift drive on Thursday, Dec. 19 during the RHS boys' hockey team's game against Medford at the RIA. Anyone who brings in a gift to donate at the game will receive free admission. Faceoff is at 7 p.m..
The Rhinelander Ice Association, Hodag Hockey, Northern Edge Hockey and Rhinelander Figure Skating Club hope to be able to provide a donation of hundreds of presents to Kindness for Kids. Anyone can stop by the ice arena to drop off gifts anytime the rink is open, or bring their donation to the game on Dec. 19. All gifts should be dropped off new and unwrapped.
For more information, contact RHS boys' hockey coach M.J. Laggis at (715) 499-0817 or RIA manager Brett Aylesworth at (715) 369-9649.
