Local swimmer competes at state meet
Heck competed in the following events:
- 10 and under 100-meter backstroke (16th place, 1 minute, 31.31 seconds)
- 10 and under 50 freestyle (23rd, 36.16)
- 10 and under 50 backstroke (eighth, 40.40).
Heck had personal best times in all three events and medaled with his performance in the 50 backstroke. He was one of nine members of the Northern Lakes Aquatic Club to participate in the state meet.
Forty-two teams from Wisconsin participated in the meet. NLAC finished 12th in the small-club division.
Heck swam under coach Lindsay Byrka during the Rhinelander Swim Club summer season.
