Mullen will be released on Dec. 4, at which time he will be placed on supervision administered by the state Department of Corrections.
"He is not wanted by the police at this time. This notification is not intended to increase fear; rather, it is our belief that an informed public is a safer public," the press release states.
Mullen was convicted on July 20, 2011 of third degree sexual assault in Oneida County Circuit Court. According to the press release, Mullen broke a basement window and entered the residence of a 15-year-old female acquaintance. He told the victim he had a knife and sexually assaulted her. It was later determined that no weapon was involved.
Mullen will be on supervision with the Wisconsin Department of Corrections until Dec. 7, 2016. He will be required to register with the Wisconsin Sex Offender Registry Program until 2031. The sex offender registry can be located at www.wido coffenders.org.
