Bus service open house planned
Safety tips, new bus schedule among topics to be discussed
"We will have busing information, safety demonstrations, door prizes and fun things like that," said bus company owner Wendi Bowen.
Aside from the usual back-to-school safety tips and information, the open house will also focus on the new busing changes implemented by the school district.
New this year, students of all ages will be riding the same buses instead of being separated as they have in past years.
"Any parents that have questions about busing this year, we will have all the answers we can provide," Bowen said.
Included in that information will be the steps the bus company is taking to ensure the safety of all children.
The bus company would also like to remind motorists they must stop for busses when red lights are flashing.
"The law is to stop at the flashing red lights, we always like to put that message out there because there's still a lot of drivers that drive through our red lights and we don't want to see any accidents," Bowen said.
The open house will take place at the company's 1940 River Street address in Rhinelander.
In case of inclement weather, the make-up date is scheduled for Aug. 24.
