A Woodruff man, formerly of Rhinelander, pled no contest to two felony charges of second degree sexual assault of an unconscious person and capturing intimate representation during a pre-trial conference on Oct. 27 in Oneida County court.
Hunter Greyhair, according to court records, was sentenced by judge Mary Sowinski on Nov. 6 in Oneida County court to three years of initial incarceration (80 days jail credit) and 10 years extended supervision; plus a variety of other conditions, one of which is the requirement of Greyhair registering as a lifetime sex offender.
Greyhair was first arrested by Oneida County law enforcement on July 29, 2024, after a victim who dated Greyhair reported she had been sexually abused by him and needed to recover items from his residence, which at the time was in Rhinelander, 5286 Sycamore Street.
According to a supplemental report filed by an Oneida County investigator on Sept. 24, 2024, through interviews with two victims, both who previously were involved in relationships with Greyhair, one said she was assaulted “approximately 600 times over the past two years” and the other “several times over the course of six months, approximately three to four years ago.”
“Both [redacted] and [redacted] said the sexual assaults involved Hunter performing sexual intercourse on [redacted] and [redacted] while [redacted] and [redacted] were asleep,” the report said.
The investigator said they reviewed several videos, “which did appear to depict a male having sexual intercourse with a female that appeared to be sleeping; however no facial recognitions were captured in the videos.”
At one point during one of the interviews with one of the victims, the investigator asked why they decided to report the alleged sexual abuse after waking up “approximately 600 times to Hunter having sex” with them over the course of two years and said “the biggest hurdle in the investigation at that point was that it appeared [redacted] had only reported the sexual assaults because Hunter was not giving [redacted] belongings back.”
One victim explained that it felt if they stayed with Greyhair they would die and if they left Greyhair they would die. Additionally, one victim said, Greyhair was “good at being good … but also being ‘really bad.’”
