Local poster contests winners announced

The 2015 North Central Land & Water Conservation Association (NCLWCA) Area Poster Competition, hosted by Oneida County LWCD, had the theme "Local Heroes: Your Hardworking Pollinators." Area students submitted their artwork to Oneida County and were judged on Feb. 10, 2015.

Comments from the judges included, "Judging these posters is tough but rewarding," and, "I just love to see what these kids come up with."

The winners of the poster contest are as follows:

Middle Division (Grades 4-6):

• First: Stephen George, 6th grade, James Williams Middle School

• Second: Sienna Weber, 6th grade, James Williams Middle School

• Third: MacKenzie Bourcier, 6th grade, James Williams Middle School

Junior Division (Grades 7-9):

• First: Emily Radtke, 7th grade, James Williams Middle School

• Second: Grace Parish, 7th grade, James Williams Middle School

• Third: Alana Ewan, 7th grade, James Williams Middle School.

First place winners in the local poster contest advanced to the North Central Land & Water Conservation Association (NCLWCA) Area Poster Competition, hosted by Oneida County LWCD on Feb. 20, 2015. Winners who placed first in the area poster competition moved on to the Wisconsin Land & Water State Competition held in Appleton on March 9.
