Marjorie "Marge" Kachel, age 101, a longtime resident of Eagle River, passed away Sunday, Sept. 24, 2017 at Ascension St. Mary's Hospital in Rhinelander. She was born Sept. 12, 1916, in Milwaukee, to parents George and Marie Bauer. Marge was a member of the Eagle River Hospital Auxiliary, Friends of the Library, and St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church. She married Albert Kachel in Milwaukee on June 5, 1943. Marge was preceded in death by her husband, Albert in 1985; parents; brother, George; and sister, Virginia. She is survived by her daughter: Kristine (Gerald) Miesbauer of Sturgeon Bay; son: Peter Kachel of Wausau; sister: Joyce Bannister of Rice Lake; 5 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 30, 2017 at Gaffney-Busha Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until the time of the service.
