Mark was born May 28, 1961, in Rhinelander, to the late John "Bud" L. and Margaret (Conley) Kopp. On Sept. 30, 1989, Mark was united in marriage to Beverly Diestler in Wausau. Mark enjoyed anything computer and technology-related and loved animals, especially his dog Mason. He and his wife, Beverly, had 12 years of special needs adoption training. Mark had a passion for music and loved playing the guitar and recorded three praise and worship CDs. He was a laidback, generous man who never complained, which served him well as the senior pastor and president of Freedom by the Word Church.
Mark is survived by his loving wife, Pastor Beverly Kopp, and four children, Mariah, Nikiya, Alyssa and Tanner. He is further survived by his siblings, John (Pam) Kopp of Tomahawk, Mary (Richard) Greife of Antigo, Greg (Virginia) Kopp of Cedarburg, Roseanne (Antti) Soumi of Greenville, Kathy (Kurt Gotchy) Hall of Rhinelander, Matthew (Donna Leafbold) Kopp of Illinois, Christine (James) Geary of New Jersey and Kateri Kopp of Tomahawk.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Steve.
Funeral services for Mark will be held at noon on Saturday, Sept. 16, 2017 at Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano with Pastor Don Parker, Pastor Pete Barby and Pastor Tom Terry officiating. Burial will be in the Friendship Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
