Marlene G. Waalkens, age 83, of Rhinelander, died Sept. 29, 2017, at her home, surrounded by her loving family. Marlene was born April 1, 1934 in Gagen, Wis., to George and Mahala (Shorter) Anderson. Survivors include her daughter Donna Mae Polarski, her son Thomas (Jonetta) Waalkens, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, her sister Patricia Bonack, nieces, nephews, other family and many friends.
