A two-vehicle accident Friday afternoon at the intersection of U.S. Highway 8 and Crescent Road snarled traffic for over an hour. The Oneida County 9-1-1 center received a report of the crash at around 1:30 p.m. According to a sheriff's deputy on the scene, a pickup truck towing a trailer with a minivan was eastbound on Highway 8 when a westbound SUV attempted to turn onto Crescent Road. The SUV struck the truck and trailer on the driver's side, causing it to slide about 40 feet before it jack-knifed and came to a stop with several tires on both the truck and trailer damaged. The deputy said none of the occupants of the vehicles needed to be transported to the hospital for medical treatment. While the accident was under investigation, traffic on Highway 8 was detoured through the parking lot of Henkel's Town Pump for about an hour until the vehicles could be cleared from the scene.
