Jim was born Sept. 10, 1956, in Wakefield, Mich., to the late Louis and Barbara (Swanson) Paulman. Jim was raised and attended school in Bergland, Mich. He graduated in 1974 from Bergland High School.
He married Agnes Turk, Bessemer, Mich., on Aug. 14, 1976 at St. Ann's Catholic Church, Bergland. The Rev. Wayne E. Marcotte officiated. They enjoyed 41 years together.
Jim began working for the Soo Line Railroad shortly after graduation. Upon their closing, Agnes and Jim moved to Rhinelander, where he worked for Oneida County Forestry and then Wausau (Expera) Paper Company in maintenance and then paper production. He retired in Nov. 2014 due to becoming ill with cancer.
He was an avid sportsman. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his brothers-in-laws Bob Turk and Larry Levijoki, and his nephew, Craig Turk. They had great times at their hunting camp. Jim also hunted elk in Colorado and fished in Canada.
Jim is survived by his wife Agnes, Rhinelander; two brothers, Tom, Bergland, Mich. and Dave, Rhinelander; brothers-in-laws and sisters-in-laws, Bob and Karen Turk, and Larry and Ann Levijoki; nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great- nephews, and the family cat, Norman. He will be missed.
Cremation has taken place. A burial, with family and friends attending, will take place at the Bergland, Michigan Cemetery in the spring.
