John "Jack" Lloyd Leonhard
John "Jack" Lloyd Leonhard, age 74, of Beloit died peacefully on Saturday Nov. 4, 2017 in his lake home in Rhinelander. He was born Sept. 11, 1943 to the late Lloyd and Fern (Drum) Leonhard in Ladysmith. Jack graduated from Beloit Catholic High School, class of 1961. He married Nancy Jean Bills on Feb. 8, 1964 at St. Peter Catholic Church in South Beloit. Jack worked at Besley's for 23 years until he founded, with his business partner Les Williams, DGR Manufacturing Co. Jack and Les owned and operated the firm until Les died in 2001. After the business was sold, Jack continued to consult until his retirement in 2007. Jack was a longtime member of the South Beloit Businessmen's Club, serving as treasurer for many years. He was a true outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing and many Harley trips. As a young man he enjoyed playing softball, over the years he became a proficient golfer and also bowled for over 40 years. Jack and Nancy were snowbirds traveling to Florida every winter. In Florida, Jack enjoyed golfing and volunteering at Imperial Estates. Family was extremely important to Jack. He will be remembered for being generous to his family with his time and knowledge.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy Leonhard; his three children, Diane (Tom) Vigdahl and their two children, Ashley Vigdahl & Shelby (Lucas) Davis, Robert (Stephanie) Leonhard and Steven (Candy) Leonhard and their two children, Jacob and Jonathan Leonhard; one great granddaughter, Lilly Leonhard, his sister, Jean Vaughn and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Jim (Jean) and one sister, Mary Ann and his brother-in-law, Jim.

Jack's visitation will be Thursday, Nov.9, 2017 from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Brian Mark Funeral Home 1000 Inman Parkway, Beloit. His funeral service will begin at 7 p.m. with Fr. Michael Resop officiating. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, a memorial is being established. Please share a memory or a condolence with the family on our website.
