Jean was mostly a homemaker but held part time jobs at Jet's Dairy Bar, WXPR, cutting her family and friend's hair, and was a cook at West Side School which she enjoyed the most. Jean had an artistic side that showed when she would carve pumpkins every year and crochet afghans for her family and friends. She loved to garden, whether it was her beautiful flower gardens that she took so much pride in or her vegetable garden where she would can all her fresh vegetables. Jean also enjoyed cars especially Model As that she had ever since she was a young girl. Above all else she loved her family the most, always cooking or baking something for them.
Jean is survived by her daughter Barbara (Buzz) Dickison of Rhinelander, sons Michael R. Freund, and Gary Freund both of Rhinelander, grandchildren Kayla, Nicole, Nicholas, Michael, Chad, Tessa, Kyle, Alyssa, and Logan; four great-grandchildren, brothers Patrick (Wanita) Cook, and Michael (Janet) Cook, both of Rhinelander, special friend Mike Gropengiser, nieces, nephews, other family and many friends.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Robert, and Thomas, and sister Muriel "Mert" Fleury.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, July 8, 2017 starting at 11 a.m. at the Veterans Hall in Rhinelander. The family would ask that all attending bring a dish to pass.
