She was united in marriage on November 7, 1942 in Rhinelander to Anthony Gechas. Anthony preceded her in death on Dec. 23, 1997. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Chester and Agnes Maine and stepfather Elton Holzschuh. Beverly had been employed for 30 years as a Nursing Assistant at St. Mary's Hospital. She was a member of Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church. Beverly was a past member of the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary and St. Joseph Catholic Church Women's Club. Upon retirement, her greatest joy was family celebrations. Beverly was known to be a very good cook and prepared many meals for the whole family. She also enjoyed her many flower gardens which were found all around her yard. She learned many crafts and made many items for everyone.
Beverly will be dearly missed by her children: Joseph (Marjorie) Gechas of Rhinelander, Fern (Jim) Castrale of Ocala, Florida and Tim (Carla) Gechas of Juneau, Wis.; 12 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving are her brother; William Holzschuh of Tomahawk, and fiancée; Gloria Biesik. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. The visitation for Beverly will be held on Wednesday, June 21, 2017 at Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church (St. Joseph site) located at 1360 N. Stevens Street from 10:30 a.m. until the 11:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial. Fr. Randy Knauf will be officiating. Interment will take place at Forest Home Cemetery.
