Donna was born March 26, 1948 in Des Moines, Iowa. She was a graduate of Valley High School, West Des Moines, Iowa and of Drake University, Des Moines, Iowa. During her work career she taught second grade and later initiated a second career as a systems analyst. Donna cherished her time on Crescent Lake, boating with family and friends. Donna was blessed with numerous close friends, whom she enjoyed both on the lake and off. She liked golfing, cards (especially bridge), and was an avid fan of the Packers. She was an enthusiastic shopper who was often accused by her husband of having her own personal FedEx truck in order to deliver all of the items she purchased online. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who cherished spending time with family and friends.
Donna is survived by her husband, David, of 47 years, whom she first met in high school; sons, Robert A. McLaughlin (Jacinda) and Geoffrey R. McLaughlin; granddaughter, Marissa, and grandson Gavin.
Donna was preceded in death by her father and mother, Harold and Marie Johnke.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2017 at 1 p.m. at the Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church-St. Joseph's site with Father Randy Knauf officiating. Visitation will be from 11 a.m., until just prior to the services on Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2017 at the Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church-St. Joseph's site.
