Charles "Charlie" "Chuck" F. Dutton of Rhinelander, passed away Saturday, July 8, 2017 at Sacred Heart Hospital, Tomahawk at the age of 72. Charles was born in Kenosha on Oct. 30, 1944, the son of Raymond F. and Fama A. (Noel) Dutton Sr. The family moved to Rhinelander where Chuck attended grade school. He was employed by various farms in the Rhinelander area. Charles proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War from 1966 until 1971. He was united in marriage on March 25, 1972 in Macedon, New York to Patricia A. Swansbrough. Charles served in the United States Navy from 1976 until 1988, achieving the rank of Petty Officer Second Class. Charles received a Bronze Star along with other commendations. After being honorably discharged from the military, Charles and his family lived in the Denver, Colo. area where he was employed by Pinkerton Security and later with Executech Security. The family returned to Rhinelander in 1993 where Charles was employed at Pizza Hut, Country Kitchen and later by Janis Security working at Menards as well as working security at Country Fest. Chuck was a past member of the Rhinelander Lions Club and the Northwoods Lions Club. For many years Charlie participated in the Relay for Life. He loved puzzles, camping and hunting. Charles will be forever remembered for the love he had for his family, especially for his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survivors include his loving wife, Pat; one daughter, Victoria Gina Dutton of Rhinelander; two granddaughters Michaela Mack of Butternut, Wis. and Destiny Mack of Rhinelander; two great-grandchildren Nevaeh Schneider and Noa Schneider. Also surviving are two brothers, Raymond F. Dutton Jr., of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and Edward (Sassy) Dutton of Colorado Springs, Colo.; son-in-law Paul D. Mack and a sister-in-law Sandy Dutton of Rhinelander. Charles is further survived by nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Merry Noel Mack; three sisters, Ruth (Ward "Pudgy") Larson, Valory (Orville) Fairfield, Thelma (Dwaine) Hammons; three brothers, Robert Dutton, Theodore (Shelby) Dutton and Eugene (Peggy) Dutton.

A Celebration of Life and service will be held on Saturday, July 15, 2017 at the Hildebrand Funeral Home from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. service. Chaplain John Uhlarik will be officiating. Military Honors conducted by the Ray Rousseau V.F.W. Post 3143, Rhinelander and by two representatives from the United States Navy will immediately follow the service. The release of red, white and blue balloons will take place following the military honors.

A luncheon will take place in the Heritage Banquet Room at the Hildebrand Funeral Home following military honors. Hildebrand Funeral Home, 24 E.
