Anglers gear up for two championship tourneys
The Central Wisconsin River Series championship will be held Sept. 9-10 and the Upper Midwest Bass Challenge (UMBCS) Tournament of Champions will take place on Oct. 6-7.
The River Series Championship is an invitational tournament with anglers qualifying for the tournament by total team of the year points through four qualifier tournaments throughout the summer. The UMBCS Tournament of Champions is an invitational tournament with anglers from two different UMBCS series vying for the title of champion.
The tournament was hosted by Gregg Kizewski, the organizer and tournament director for the UMBCS. While this tournament was meant to help prep the anglers for their biggest tournaments of the year, it was also a fun tournament, with several anglers fishing as a father and son team. In fact, the winning team was the father and son team of David and Hawkon Anderson. The elder Anderson stated he has fished two tournaments with his 10-year-old son and has done very well in both.
