VFW Unmet Needs program
James Pederson, commander of the Rhinelander Ray Rousseau Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3143, presents a plaque to Josh Steinmetz, the general manager of the Rhinelander Burger King July 31. The plaque was presented to the Burger King Corporation and its local stores for support of the VFW's Unmet Needs Program. Through this program, active duty or discharged veterans can apply for grants of up to $5,000. These grants may be used by the veterans to pay for such items as mortgages, rent, vehicle expenses,insurance, utilities, food, children's expenses and medical bills.
